Tested. Certified. Trusted.

Every Technishield system is rigorously tested to the highest standards. Acoustic performance is measured on full-height, multi-module screens with glazing joints and perimeter trackwork, not simplified window samples, ensuring the ratings you specify are the ratings you get on site.

European Fire Standards

Fire ratings conform to European classification standards (EN 13501-2) with integrity (E) and insulation (I) ratings from 30 to 120 minutes.

NBS Listed

Technishield systems are listed on the National Building Specification for straightforward specification by architects and designers.

UKAS Accredited Testing

All acoustic performance data is laboratory tested in UKAS-accredited facilities, with full test reports available on request.

FIS Acoustic Verification

Acoustic testing follows the FIS Acoustic Verification Scheme requirements for real-world, full-height multi-module screen testing.

Technishield application example

Understanding Fire Ratings

Fire-rated partitions are classified using European standard notation (EN 13501-2). Understanding the difference between E and EI ratings is essential for correct specification.

E-Rated

Integrity Only

Prevents the passage of flames and hot gases for the rated duration. Suitable where compartmentation is required without insulation.

EI-Rated

Integrity + Insulation

Prevents flames, hot gases, and limits heat transfer through the partition. Required where people may be in close proximity to the fire barrier.

Technishield FAQ's

What fire ratings are available across the Technishield range?+

The range covers E30 (30 minutes integrity) through to EI120 (120 minutes integrity and insulation). Technishield 25 and 54 offer E30, Technishield 50 offers up to E60, Technishield 65 offers EI30/EI60, Technishield 70 offers EI90, and Technishield 110 offers up to EI120.

What is the difference between E and EI fire ratings?+

E-rated systems (integrity only) prevent the passage of flames and hot gases. EI-rated systems provide both integrity and insulation, also limiting heat transfer through the partition. EI ratings are required where people may be close to the barrier.

What acoustic performance can be achieved?+

Acoustic ratings range from Rw37dB with single glazed systems up to Rw47dB with the Technishield 110. Enhanced ratings are achievable through lamination or double glazing.

Can Technishield systems accommodate doors?+

Yes — Technishield 50, 65, and 70 all include door options. Single doors, double doors, doors with over panels, and doors with side panels are available depending on the system.

What glazing joint options are available?+

Glass panels can be connected via 5mm fire-rated silicone butt joints (available in grey, white, or black) or vertical mullions for a fully framed appearance.

Are the systems tested to recognised standards?+

Yes — all systems are tested in UKAS-accredited laboratories. Acoustic testing follows FIS Acoustic Verification Scheme requirements using full-height, multi-module screens.
